I went halves with a buddy of mine and we built a 79 F-250 custom with a custom built 400 in it and yes 2 FRAMES. Sounds dumb and you wouldnt dare take the thing on the road but for mud bogs and trails the thing did great! ran matching D60s and 44s underneath. Never had a problem with the frames splitting apart. Yes it looks dumb but for what we had in it? well worth it

It's a lot more common than you think. Gets you past the lift laws. Way stupid and unsafe.

It's stupid but back in the day it was a normal thing. Open a Petersons 4x4 from the 70's and dont be suprised if you see a few of these. But damn I must agree, its retarded now and whoever thought it was a good thing back then was equally retarded.

I was thinking it might make it easier to work on but hten the extra frame would get in the way. I can't find a reason to do that. He probably found the frame in the junk yard and didn't want it to go to waste.
