04 Ball Joint issue

Over the last week, I've noticed a really bad THUMP that seemed to come from under the floorboard near the center of the truck. Figured that it was just the sway bar bushings needing replaced. Well, over the several days, the noise got worse. Then, this morning on my commute to work, I noticed a really bad THRUMMING noise that increased in frequency as the truck sped up and slowed as the truck slowed. This got me thinking that it was possibly a bad wheel bearing. Well, upon jacking the truck up, there wasn't any play in the driver side wheel bearing, nor the passenger. BUT...the passenger side ball joint was shot. Had about two inches of play.

So that was my morning. Changing out ball joints in the rain. The lower ball joint was totally shot. Just glad it wasn't a hub.
