Front shocks not the same height

'07 FX4 CC/SB 88k miles

I posted a while back that my front end looked off and found that the distance from the top of my tire to the fender was 1" shorter on the driver side. Today I did a little more checking and found the front driver side shock is .75" shorter than the passenger side.

It doesn't appear to affect handling but when looking at the truck from the front it's obvious it leans. It's also enough to make it look off from the back even though the back tire to fender distances are the same.

Should I replace only the front or all four shocks? How difficult is it to change them? Can I do it on my own without a lift or should I have a professional do it?

the shock has nothing to do with the 1 inch difference it's just compressed more
because of the side being down
the driver side has more weight so it tends to do this

some folks swap coils around

and not to be a tool but i am not sure why your asking about how hard it is to change a shock ? it is about the most basic item you can do besides windshield wipers

actually those can be more difficult LOL

one glance at the mounting and you know what your getting in to 1 hour tops

I didn't know if any other suspension parts needed to be removed. The only time I ever swapped shocks was on my first car back in the '80s.

A friend has an FX4, both of his front shocks are the same length.
