Question for you guys that have had auto hub problems

Did you get any indication there was a problem? My 4x4 light comes on fine but I suspect the hubs aren't locking in. I would have thought there would be some indication there was a problem if they didn't lock.
Did you go manual hubs or replace the oem auto hubs? Looks like the autos are about 200 each.

the system can not verify hub actuation it can only verify the transfer case shift motor has done it's job and set the dash indicators accordingly

easy check

select 4high drive a bit forward and stop truck put in park or shut off

reach into the knuckle and grasp the u joint for each axle shaft if you can turn one by hand the hub did not lock

also the choices for manual hubs are dependent on year and you did not state that ??

but 05 up has no viable choices

Have you checked to see if all the tubes to the hubs are connected? A buddy of mine had an issues with his hubs not locking in, but found that one of the tubes wasn't hooked up.


2004 F250 CC Lariat 4x4

BPD FICM, BPD billet water pump, BPD VK688 oil cooler kit, S&B CAI, MTW stage 2, TSD tunes, Auto Meter gauges, Edge CTS, Sinister coolant filter, Blue spring, 6.4 banjo bolts, Straight piped w/ 6" single mitre stack, Pro Comp leveling kit, 05-07 HD headlights, Fumoto block drain valves, ELC, High idle mod

so if it still turns and locks u can save your $$ and just block off the ESOF vacuum at the valve and knuckles to go manual only
