Dually Wheel Spacer question

I am thinking about going from the 235/85 16 to a 285/75 16. I will put a level lift on the truck so the front looks right. My consern is the width of the tires in the back, would I need a Spacer to space out my dual wheels and if so how do i know how wide of one to get. Where do i get the spacers?

I am running 37 x 12.5 x17 bfg's on my rig. I have 2" steel wheel spacers seperating the rears. I got them from No Limit Off Road in Charlotte NC. A tire shop should be able to tell you if you need spacers and if you have an off road place near you they should be able to get them. These were not cheap but worth it. They were also machined so the spacer alignes the tire to the hub instead of relying on the studs to line it up. Good luck

My last truck was a 01 ram 3500 with 6 inch liftand 37 inch irok radials 13 inch wide 10 ply with no spacers. From what i have heard that spacers are very dangerous, they like to come off at high speeds loaded down. A buddy of mine had steel ones with the same setup as mine and about rolled his truck as one fo the spacers came off. I ran my tires rubbin for 3 years not a problem at all, loaded or unloaded. So i dont think u will need spacers for 285s. Also before i lifted my truck i ran 305 goodyear mtrs rubbin without one problem. But that is just my 2 cents, just remeber to ask the good about spacers and the bad.

Thats what i was wondering. I never load mine down so i dont think they would touch under a load if they were close.

If u plan on running 285s and dont pull any weight than i would save ur money. Like I said i ran 305s with no problems at all and they were pressed together with no gap between them at all. But i would go with what u think will be safer just remember that both ways have there pros and cons.
