2013 F250 Pulling Questions?

I just bought a 2013 F250 with the 6.7 Powerstroke.

My father has a 7.3 with airbags and plug in chip and pulls our 35' Montana Fifth Wheel. I think the GVWR on it loaded is about 14-15000 pounds guessing on the heavy side.

This truck should be able to handle that without a problem correct?

I am putting the rails in for the hitch this weekend to pull the RV to Bristol at the end of this month for the NASCAR race so it will be through pretty dense mountainous terrain.

I am not chipping it due to the warranty. I work for a tractor company and make TSB's and find warranty glitches for a living so I know how it works I am not playing those games. 15k engine > 1k chip

Thanks for the help!

My suggestion is to get your hitch installed as you plan to and then hook up the trailer and take it for a short drive. Stop once or twice if you can to see how the truck sits while hooked to the trailer and see if you can live with it or not. Once you see the setup together will tell you whether you'll want airbags or not.

Oh yeah, double check the GVW of the trailer by looking on the VIN tag so you aren't guessing at the trailer weight. Better yet, on your test drive with the truck and trailer go weigh the whole setup on a truck scale to see what the total weight is.
