dealer parts

Apparently. They are built using parts that spicier can only sell
to Ford per three partnership agreement. I have found that my
Outer shafts are about an inch shorter than the ones I have found available.
I am in the Kansas city area and the only dealer that I have with one prices it at 700

Have you searched the ol'interweb for other outer axle shafts? I'm no Power Stroke guru, but that sounds a little fishy to me.

I wish I could remember the title but a member just wrote about replacement 35 spline stub shafts that are about the same price as the OEM shafts. They were not that much either.

Hmm, that sounds weird.

I'd do some searching on the ol'interweb if I were you. Starting in 2003, Ford shifted to the Dana 60 front. The Dana 50 looks the same, but the axle shafts different and the ring and pinion are much smaller.
