05 F250 with 2.5" Leveling Kit. Need Shock Entenders or New Shocks?

I just picked up an 05 KR. Love the truck but sure is a rough ride. Truck has 134K on it with 2.5" Coil spacer without shock extenders on stock FX4 shocks...

Should I try shock extenders or just replace the shocks since they are probably due anyhow?

If I replace, what size should I look for in order to avoid the need for shock extenders?

I have read good and bad on Bilstiein but didn't mind them on a 1/2 ton Chevy but I am open to other brands if they ride smoother and wont break the bank...

Any tips helpful!!

I installed the Pro Comp 2.5" leveling kit on my truck which came with shock extenders. Very easy install without having to replace the front shocks.

I have an 06 and used the carli starter kit which came with custom valved bilstien 5100's, knew track bar and I wouldn't have done anything different. Ride quality and handling are better than stock.

Kit was $890 but doesnt include rear shocks or a block. I was undecided(still am) on what to do in the rear so just a 3" block to replace the factory. Havent changed rear shocks yet and if I had it to do over I would have just stacked a 1" block on top of the factory. There are cheaper kits but they don't include the track bar and if you want your front end right then you need it so add that to a cheap kit and you might as well spring for carli quality. It rides great! Here is what I bought. The folks at 8-lug were great to deal with.Carli SuperDuty Leveling System

I'd get new shocks..stockers are not very good quality. You will also need Castor shims and a adj track bar to recenter the axle and get back the lost Castor.
