Can a 7.3 go till the steering wheel falls off

I have a 02 f250 and it seems something in my steering column has shifted. I just did my ball joints and steering box two weeks ago and yesterday while jamming out the steering wheel made a pop and when I investigated it and it has a tremendous amount of play, since then it's getting a lot harder to turn and my turn signals are beginning to not turn the selfs off. It's getting dangerous to drive so replies are much appreciated.thank ya

You need to take the plastic covers off and investigate. The plastic covers are held on by phillip head screws you can remove from the holes on the bottom plastic cover.

my truck did the same thing, what happened with mine is there is a small bearing input shaft bearing if i remember correctly and that went but it could also be the snap ring that holds the bearing in place came lose and the spring pushed your turn signal shutter offer thing out so it won't connect. hope this helps
