LIFT KIT PROBLEMS
i have a 01 F250 CC 4X4 with the mighty 7.3. i had a 5.5 fab-tech lift put on and im running 35"s. the question i have is the drop pitman arm is rubbing on the drop bracket bolt, (on the left side) and is wearing the bolt head down, Is this normal. the shop that installed the lift is known for really big trucks, and have a good rep, the owner told me that they just grind down the bolt so it doesnt rub. ????????? any help would be apreciated
also i dont have a steering stabilizer on the truck, it steers fine but is this puting wear on parts in excess. the shop that put the lift on didnt put one on IS this BAD Justin |

Steering stabilizer helps with bump steer. I don't think it will prolong the life of any parts. But with 35 inch tires I would greatly consider putting one on.
As for your bolt rubbing. Something does not sound right to me. I have put many lifts on many trucks. Never had anything rubbing after I got done. I would have another shop take a look at it for you. |

hey bud welcome to the Org... as far as the bolt its hitting goes... is it hitting the trac bar drop bracket? thats the only thing i would think would be close enough to hit.. a picture would be great...also you don't really need a steering stab since your only running 35's but it would help it out if your truck swayed from one side or another but since it doesn't seem to do that i wouldn't waste your money on one...

yeah this seems weird to me too..sorta the reason I did my lift myself..not because I love smashing my knuckels or anything lol. But so I would know what is going on if anything happened. Not saying you dont. But as far as steering goes..I dont have a stab. but im going to invest in one..my truck is all over the road. And yeah deff post a pic of what is going on. Sounds weird to me too..I would assume like Raul said it would be hitting the trac bar. thats crazy..I had no probs with mine at all. post up a pic, you'll even get more help.
