Front end rebuild

Should a front end rebuild consist of drag link , rod ends, and a gear box or more and how hard is it to replace the box

A front end rebuild should contain the consumables ie ball joints, tie rod/drag link ends and maybe bushings depending on what they look like. These are items that typically wear out. Unless the drag link is bent, or the steering box is cracked (they can be adjusted if it's just sloppy) I wouldn't bother with trying to replace those items.
