can you take the gearbox from a 550 or a 650 and put it in a 350? if it dose fit would that be just as good as getting an aftermarket box for my truck? i have a 4" lift with 37's and im done using oem boxes. ive replaced the pump, adjusted the box, got a dual stablizer kit from skyjacker, the alingment is good to, just had it done. truck is an 01 7.3.

Even an "Aftermarket box " is OEM ford

Redhead may upgrade a few parts but other than that not alot to do

I doubt a 650 would be any fun to try and put in a light duty ?

I suggest a decen't rebuild and if you want to take strain off the box add an assist Ram

i found a redhead box for $520 plus a $225 core charge. just looking around to find the best deal. i read in another thread that having hydro assist in Mass will fail inspection. the box thats in it now is a re-man from autozone and it sucks. i figured if the setup was the same having the box from a 650 would be better, but i dont know thats why im posting this lol

figured out that the box is the same from 350 to 650. looks like its gonna be a redhead. and if you call redhead directly, they quoted me $340 for one with a $200 core charge.
