turning with brakes applied

Hey can anyone check on their truck and tell me if it does what mine does. When i'm sitting still with the brakes applied very hard, I can't turn the steering wheel until I let off of the brakes. Just wondering if that was normal, thanks.

Not normal, although you will probably see some increased steering effort with the brakes held on because the power steering and the hydroboost for the power brakes run off of the power steering pump. Its not uncommon for those power steering pumps to fail although you usually will end up with weak or no power steering and a brake pedal with pulsating feel when it happens.

ok thanks, well it may be going bad then because I can't turn mine at ALL until i let pressure off the brake pedal. However, I do have two inch spacers on the front, so since I have a little wider wheelbase would it make it do that maybe???
