Power steering feels WAYYY to easy : help
Ive read so many threads on different forums of people with this same problem and no one seems to have an answer just a silly "I wish my power steering was that easy"...
I have a 2wd 99 f350 and until now (218k miles) weve really had no problems. Driving through town last night I realized the steering was felt easier than it ever had, which I shrugged off. But this morning hooking up a trailer I realized I could throw the wheel almost lock to lock. I dont care if anyone thinks thats cool its unnerving and I need help. Is the pump just junk? Is there a common fix that some how I havent stumbled upon? I also checked the fluid and it was a bit low but topping it off seemed to only make it worse. I really appreciate any help guys! -Webb |

I've had guys not able to undo the coolant tank cap, So it may be easier for you if your not 150lbs of wuss. I've Never been able to throw it. Even breaking traction of the tires to the ground would require some muscle. Try troubleshooting. Do you see any severe leaks, were you parked on ice, or maybe animal birthing agent or something else slippery, try again on dry pavement. is your tires actually turning sufficently? Maybe there's something wrong and you have too much play in your system so you can still turn slightly but your tires are only moving so far.
