Bilstein 5100 / 5160 or icon. Vendors
I finally need to bite the bullet and replace the shocks. I dont want it to ride too rough and I have read that the 5100 tend to be. I use it as a DD and also pull a 14k fiver so i need something that can give me improvement with both. Thinking about the Icon leveling kit it seems to be better rdie quality , but now there is the new Carli leveling kit. So what i am saying is i would like a great ride with towing compatibility and a great price. Thanks in advance for opinions and Vendors please PM best pricing for all. Thanks in advance! JIM

If u tow that big trailer, when u level it, i would install some air bags for towing as you will sit nose high when u throw a trailer on it and tow like crap.. u need that rake to tow a trailer like that.
Also with what ever kit u get, make sure it come with the castor cams, i know the icon kit does. |

If you want a smooth ride, ICON is definitely the way to go.

I have had all of those and the 5160's are the softest and I really like them over the icon 2.0 but if you go to icon 2.5 or better then they are some of the best shocks for these trucks and I will be steeping up to the 2.5's real soon.

Let me know if you have any questions on our leveling system. Our add-a-pack maintains the ability to hauls a stock load and softens the rear with our full-progressive add-a-pack. Nothing will beat the plushness of our 2.5" pintop system that is on the market now. If you were local, I'd invite you down for a ride in mine!

The ride will be better than stock but the bilstein 5100s are not plush; they're an entry level offroad shock so your ride will be more controlled but will remain a bit firm. You sound like the perfect candidate for the King 2.0 system we're developing but that won't be released for couple months when we're finished testing.
