Size of factory rear blocks in a 01 F-250
Hello all. I've had a 01 f250 for about 5 years. I bought it second hand with 50K on it. It had a set of 16x10 Aluminum wheels with 305/70-R16 tires and I should say it rides well for a truck. Here lately I've been pulling a trailer quite a lot and noticed more and more that my truck squatted more than others I've seen with a similar load. I can hook an empty 20' trailer behind it and it's noticeable, By the time I put something on the trailer the lights is pointed in the tree's.
So I've been doing some searching and looking. Every stock f250 I've looked at has a factory lift block in the rear with an arm made on it to hit the bump stops. My truck has no block at all under it. After I got to looking, I believe the previous owner has removed the block to level the truck because the U-bolts have had the threads cut off the extra bolt sticking up and it has 5 or 6 washers under the nuts to have enough thread to tighten the U-bolt nut's down. Sound right? If so I'd like to put the correct size block back under it or close to correct size. The truck rides excellent now, and I sure don't want the back to look like it's jacked way up, but I can't handle all the squat from a load either. The truck sets pretty level empty, if anything its just a frog hair lower in the rear.....hard to tell though unless ya just stare at it. Thought about a 1.5'' block or so. What ya say? Thanks men.
