Dana 80 or S110 for '00 F-350 DRW

I am in need of a Axle rebuild ( $1300/center only) as my Dana80 center carrier is popping and clicking! I purchased this truck for towing heavy loads with a gooseneck trailer, and it was set up great from the factory. It's got 7.3 for power, ZF 6spd and a Dana80 w/4.10:1 gears.
I have a choice of a used Dana80 replacement with 3.73:1 $700 so I would have to regear to 4.10. Or for the same price as the D80 I can buy a Dana S110 and matching front mono beam with all springs and brackets from '02 F-450 $850. I might have to change gears in this also to 4.30, but have found center sections used on ebay for a reasonable price @$650 or so.
Has anyone done this before? I have read that the early F-350, F-450 and F-550 shared the same frames so this should be a matter of blood, sweat, tears and alot of heavy lifting! Lol

Double check the frame measurements I owned both a 2002 F350 and a2001 F550 both were 4x4 and both had a flatbed the 550 bed mounted directly on the frame rails the 350 I had to build brackets because the rails were not spaced the same. It has been quite a few years and I have sold the 550 so can't take measurements now but I want to say there was about a 2-3" difference in the frame rails. I never did a axle swap on any of the but I would definitely get measurements on the spring perch spacing to make sure they would swap over. Also I think you will have to get some drive shaft work done if I remember correctly the 450-550 run bigger u joints. I hope this helps.

agreed check the pad spacing on the rear you may need to move them for the pickup spacing

and what wheels you intend to use ?
the D110 is a ten lug IIRC

Agreed on the wheels depending on what year the axle is the 99-04 450-550 had a 8x225 and then the 05 and up went to 10x225 spacing
