01 hub replacement.

Just recently had in to do the injector cups and part of the diagnostic was to do a multi point inspection on the truck. one of there finds was m hubs needed to be repacked, i agreed the last time i locked the passenger side it was pretty stiff. The kicker is the quoted 600 bucks to do this, if i am not mistaken is there a way to upgrade the hubs and replace them new for cheaper? The truck is an 01 F250 powerstroke, auto transmission with the switch on the dash for the 4x4 hi/low. Any tips and or a direction to take is appreciated. Thanks.

are you saying that the bearings need to be repacked? th super duties ad unit bearing hubs and cannot be rebuilt the only way is to replace the hub and they are expensive. or you can buy the dynatrac kit for close to $2K and get rebuildable hubs

Ya that's what I thought the bearings were all one unit. I pick up the truck in the morning and I hope they can give me a better explanation. But I believe it's the locking hubs that need attention.
