Teach me about rear lift blocks. 2006 f350

2006 f350 with the factory helper spring. Do i want tapered or non tapered for a 5.5" block? Why does one site say won't fit with the overload spring? What does that have to do with it? I just looked at the truck and didn't think it would matter.

I was looking at the Tuff country 5.5" rear block kit.

DO most rear block kits not incorporate the factory bump stop?

the tapered blocks are to help adjust the pinion angle(to keep it level) don't think you will need them. and most blocks don't use the bump stops. unless you use a smaller one and put the factory one on top.. but there are some fabricated one's out there that do but are pretty high. if you go with blocks make sure you get some strong bolts and torque them to the right specs.

here's a link to one with them built in 5" 05-07 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 4x4 Fabricated Lift Block Kit (w/ built in bump stops) @Top Gun Customz

here's one with out them. 99-11 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 5" Steel Fabricated Lift Block Kit @Top Gun Customz

Top gun customs has them in a bunch of lengths. Just make sure you get the ones for a sd and torque them to the right spec drive it for a couple days then do it again.

Will i have any issues doing just the 6" blocks and maybe longer shocks? The ICON blocks are flat, not tapered.

6" blocks are pretty tall. The bigger the blocks the more likely for bad axle wrap. I would consider getting 6" lift springs. And yes new shocks.
