New Owner --> Steering Stabilizer Missing?

Hello all, this is my first post here on the forum. I'm happy to report that my wife and I bought a 2004 F-350 Dually 6.0L yesterday. I think we got a really good deal on it, but I'm finding things here and there that need fixed or tweaked. I replaced the thermostat this morning.

While I was looking around the front end looked strange, and then it hit me, there's no steering stabilizer! Is this normal? I looked at where the attachment bracket would connect, and didn't see any scratches or anything like there had been something there. So is this normal? Did Ford ship these without Steering Stabilizers?

I believe they all had steering stabilizers.? You can always upgrade to a dual

My 03 came from the factory without one.

Steering stabilizers are over rated and only mask problems. Mine was missing when I bought my truck, but the brackets were there. While still on 33s, we bought an aftermarket one and promptly bent it off roading! Since the vibration I was feeling was the rotors going south, I never put it back on. Over the next 4 years I had 365/65-16 Toyos (14.5x34.5), no stabilizer, no issues. Now I have 315/75s, no stabilizer, no issues.

no stabilizer on my 04 either, never was.

you shouldnt need one. As long as nothing is broken your steering should be fine. I am running 37x13.50 tires on the stock one (which im pretty sure is shot) and have very little bump steer.
