Help tracing this squeak down..
Well I installed a 8" ICON all leaf springs lift kit about 2 months ago. I didn't notice the squeak noise until I went back to work after holidays and started driving on bump lease roads.
It isn't super annoying, I can just hear a little (errp) noise when driving over ruts and hard bumps. For some reason I think it's the shocks but they are installed the right way and are torqued to spec. I tried jumping up and down on my hitch to try and produce the same noise and failed. When I installed the lift kit I also installed new pittman arm, new trac bar and bracket, new tierod, dual steering stabalizers, new bumpstops, brake lines. Ball joints, rotors, pads, calipers are brand new. |

I know this sounds funny but I had the same problem since I bought the truck, every time I hit a bump it would make a noise, turned out to be the tailgate latches. It was surprising how loud it was I spent 15 minutes looking and lubing different parts of my suspension and then I finally figured out it was the tailgate. It is at least a place to start

I hopped in my box to grab some hammers and sure as ****. My tailgate made the same squeak. That was the most annoying few weeks.. thinking I installed my lift kit wrong. blah. Thanks tho. |
