New to forum....Can't turn RIGHT????
I am new here. I have a strange problem and I have not found a mechanic or a thread that can tell me what is wrong with my truck.
I have a 2000 Ford F250 4X4 Super Cab with a 7.3 Liter 6" Lift on 35x12.50 Mud Dawgs. My power steering and brakes started going (Hydro Boost) so I replaced the power steering pump. I primed the system of all the air and the brakes work great, the steering to the left works great, but steering to the right is NO power steering????? If I jack the front of the truck up off the ground, you turn left or right with one finger. I have checked the steering linkage for binding and nothing is stopping it from turning right. I thought the pump might be a bad one from the factory, but if that were the case, I wouldn't be able to turn or brake. Does anybody have any ideas? Could it be the steering box? If so, why does it work fine to the left? Thanks for any help you can give me!! |

got to be the pump or the lines, take the pump back and have them swap it

I don't see how it can be the pump. If the pump is weak or not working properly then my brakes and steering would be effected, not just turning right. I think I am going to replace the steering box and see if that is the problem.
Thanks for your reply and advice |

Join NASCAR. Then you only have to turn left.

I'm frustrated that after they recommending replacing the PS pump and the Steering box at a cost of $ 500 I'm no closer to having a truck that turns at a stop. I have talked to Harvey many times and he has said that it doesn't know why it doesn't work. After talking with the guys at PSC I feel confident that they know what works and what doesn't. |

I contacted PSC through an e-mail, I dont see a system on thier websiite to fit my truck, so I will wait til I hear from them. I dont think I can afford that system right now, but I will see what they say. Thanks for the advice!!
