Ride Quality - Do shocks help THAT much?

Its my summer break from college and im finally making some extra spending money, so i want to improve the ride quality of my 350.

I lifted the truck a little over a year ago, and it has some cheapo procomp standard shocks on it.... it rides pretty darn stiff.

I keep seeing people talk about how Bilstein 5100's ride so great. Will i really see that much of an improvement in something as simple as shocks? If thats the case, i would be happy to invest in a set.

Also, i have a dual steering stabilizer setup..... will replacing those help ride quality at all? I hear some people say yes, but i have a hard time believing that a steering dampener would effect ride quality.

When my truck was lifted, I ran ICON shocks and it rode like a dream. One thing to keep in mind is... the springs you are running will make a huge difference. I have never run ProComp, so I cant help you out there. I ran ICON exclusively and was VERY happy. ICON's have a dual rate coil spring, and plush ride rear leafs though, so that makes a difference. I would think getting rid of those white body ProComp shocks and going to a quality shock suck as Bilstein or ICON will definitely make a difference. Weather or not it will be good enough, without upgrading your springs or not, I dont know the answer to that.

I would agree. I REALLY like my Icon setup and Bilstein 5100's. It's definitely not a Cadillac ride, but it's MUCH better than stock.

Well you two with your coil suspension as opposed to us guys with leaf's definitely should have a smoother ride with quality shocks. I'm getting ready to put on 5100's and I have an 03 and I will tell you how much of a difference they make after I get them on!

I didnt even pay attention to his signature lol. I saw the front end and assumed he had 05+ truck. You see what assuming does

With how many people do the front end swap on this forum, there is probably the same amount of 99-04 owners with the 05-07 front ends as there are 05-07 trucks

I am glad my truck is that convincing though.
