Looking to upgrade to RC 8" lift
The leveling kit currently installed has about had it so I am looking for an upgrade. I've came across mixed reviews on the shocks that come with the RC kit, but these threads were pretty dated so maybe things have improved. I see the kit comes with the Hydro 8000 shocks. How do these compare to the nitro ones I have read about? I do hardly any towing and what I do is light for the most part (bass boat, jetski, etc).
One other thing I'm curious about it overall ride. The only thing I have noticed in my truck so far is that if I find any pothole in the road, the truck seems to shimmey left and right real bad. If it's a really rough section, I've had it almost jump out of the lane before. What, if any, accessories should I buy with this kit to keep my ride in my own lane? |

RC's..very stiff ride quality same for their shocks....you want a great ride quality a hybrid Icon kit is whats needed.
Sounds like you may have tie rod, ball joints, unit bearings or track bar problems..I'd check all first before a lift. |

for the price of the kit you cant go bad, I bought the 6" 4 link kit and have to installed a bigger block and leveling kit so now i have an 8" kit, do it you wont be dissappointed, Dont assume these trucks are cadillacs. I have never rode in a truck with a top of the line kit. but from friends they say my truck rides better now

Thank you both for the reply. Currently, I only have 16" wheels, but definitely need a larger tire for this. Right now I'm running 305/70/16. On their site they recommend a 37" tire. Is that pretty much a must or is it ok to go smaller? I'm just not sure I have the money for both larger wheels and tires, but I'm not sure how a 37" on a 16" wheel will look either...

Looks...thats personal but 37" on 16" will handle poorly..I'd go 20" min.

I figured as much. I ended up ordering some 20's. Now to save up for the tires... eek.

Also, I noticed that the install instructions of this kit states it only fits 03-01-99 - 2004 vehicles only. Looking at my sticker, mine seems to be a 02/99. I guess the difference is the bolt size of the stock track bar. This truck already has the leveling kit on it if that matters. I guess now I am wondering what all is needed to make this kit work on my E99?
