1973 F250 detroit swap idea

I want to swap an 6v53t 2 stroke Detroit into a early 70's ford. first off don't ask why or say Cummins would be easier because frankly I don't care and I want something different that not many people have or seen. Ok with that out of the way I found a 1973 F250 2wd 4spd 390 that's rust free and would be a good solid truck to work on. but the problem is that its 2wd. So can I convert this truck to 4x4 and put a lift under it or is that just out of the question? also is the '73 F250 frame strong enough to support this engine(1200-1300LBS) or should I look for a F350. I would assume they used the same frame though. I don't care about the axle or suspension differences as they would probably be changed anyway. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't really know where to put it.
