Angry steering locks up while driving!!! please help

while driving my 01 f350 on the freeway the steering locked up on me only for about one second, the second time it happen i lost the brakes as well, i replaced the hydro-booster and everything was fine for about three days, now the steering is acting up again, it feels as if i turned the truck off but i still have brakes, any ideas

i have heard that a tight u joint will do this but can not say from experience. hope it helps

How are your ball joints and tie rods? My friends truck was doing this and it turned out the front end was shot.

Front axle joints . . . do them both.
