Anyone used the Pro Form Fabrication leveling kit

As the titles says, has anyone used the 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty 2 Inch Front Shackle Leveling Kit, from Pro Form Fabrication?: If so what size of tire are you running, and is it worth the money? How does it affect the ride and drive of the truck?

thanks for your help!

JUNK...
Shackles ..you need both front hangers and rear shackles to lift properly also longer shocks and a adj track bar..unless the kit has a correctly made drop bracket.

We have quality kits that come with whats required. If you would like additional info or a quote please PM.

First, I would like to thank you for the kind words about our products. It's always nice when a competitor supports our buisness.

Moving past this to the technical side of why our kit is designed the way it is. When you drop the rear of the spring only you are increasing the positive caster by roughly 2 degrees (rotating the pinion angle of the axle down). This does a couple of good things but the most noteworthy of which is making the truck more predictable on uneven roads as it will track much straighter rather than try and follow the lines on the road. Talk to any alignment shop and 2-4 degrees of positive caster is what is reccomended for these pickups yet in stock form the upper balljoint eccentrics must be changed from factory to get into this range. With our kit it takes care of this issue and the trucks handle much better especially with larger tires which most customer's choose to install.

The ONLY negative effect I can think of would be if you had a large suspension lift already (say larger than 6 inches) and were to use our product to try and obtain even more lift the rotation of the axle could cause driveshaft binding due to the decrease in pinion angle. We don't reccomend using this product if you have more than 6 inches of lift already installed, this kit is more geared toward trucks in stock form who don't like the nose down stance of the truck.

Moving on to the next issue in question, longer shocks. Due to the design of this kit and the relation of the lower shock mount the length of the shock is increased by around 1.5 inches. On a stock pickup you have 4.5 inches of down travel before the shock fully extends. Case in point, if you do extreme offroading and things of this nature yes you may top the shock out, as you are left with only 2.5 to 3 inches of down travel, HOWEVER 99% of our customers use the truck for daily driving and/or working and towing and are not trying to obtain the maximum amount of wheel travel on thier pickup and will never need a longer shock for this kit to function properly.

Moving along to the track bar issue. From the factory the track bar on the 1999-2004 Super Duty's and 2000-2005 Ford Excursion's runs perfectly straight from the driver's side frame rail to the passenger side of the axle. Being some of these trucks are over a decade old and the rest fast approaching many have sagged to the point of actually going uphill from the frame and thus less than what Ford intended. Once our kit is installed the MOST we have ever seen axle alignment from side to side change was around 1/4" with our 2 inch leveling kit and absoultely none with our smaller kits. This also plays into the shock extension as you are dropping the rear of the spring with our kit and the track bar is mounted to the front of the axle so acutal position change of the unit is minimal. From our experience, a drop bracket will actually over correct and cause more issues than leaving it alone with no correction. However, if you feel the need for an adjustable track bar we won't say don't do it just keep in mind you are spending money to correct an issue so small it will never be noticed by driving or looking at the vehicle.

Back to the customer's questions:

Ride quality with our kit in many cases can be better than stock due to the added suspension travel and the better departure angle of the shackles once installed. We have never seen a case where it was decreased in any way. As far as driveability, you may not even notice they are on there but in past trucks we have done it actually seemed to help the truck perform better on uneven surfaces such as an interstate that is being worked on where you are traveling at a high rate of speed over these uneven areas. We guarantee full satisfaction with our kit as we have been a full line suspension product manufactorer for many years.

Bottom line, we have the best kit for the money bar none. Can you find other kits that include additional products? Yes you can, right along with the additional price tag and that doesn't neccessarily mean you are getting what you pay for in this case. We work very hard to provide cost effective suspension products that work well and have been doing so for nearly 9 years. Thanks for reading my post, and thanks to our customer's for helping us to continue to serve you!
