Replacing stock steering damper on an '06 250
I installed new tires on my 06 250 4x4, one width size up from stock with a pretty agressive tread. I'm now getting an intermittent vibration in the steerring wheel. The truck only has 26k miles on it. I'd like to replace the steering damper. I have a Haynes book but it says nothing about this. I have read that others had to heat up the parts to get the OEM damper out. Is it that difficult? Also, who makes a direct replacement for the OEM? Any info for me?

Nope no heat needed unless something is really seized up. Just a pickle fork and a hammer will do it.
As far as direct replacements seeTHIS for some ideas. |

Thanks, I'm gonna call Top Gun Customz later and figure out what they think is the best option. I'll be laying in my driveway doing the work. The easier the better.
