Icon Lift questions
I have a few questions about my lift.
My truck wanders but I know thats because of me negative caster. The four link will fix this and I understand this. what I dotn understand is will a four link fix my bumpsteer. I let my girl drive my truck and everytime she hits a bump it nearly rips the steerign wheel out of her hands. I have the dual steering stabalizer kit on it as well. My second question is why does the lift kit rode so dang ruff. My brother has a dodge 1500 with a 6 inch fabtech with the torsion bars cranked up and a body lift and his truck rides so much better than mine. I mean it like night and day difference and hes on bias tires to and I am on radial MTZ. I am seriously debationg lowering it down runnign a leveling kit with 33-13.50 ATZ on my 20-12 rockstars if I cant fix this. I mean I spent so much money on this set up and well it does not ride like I want it to. Is there any lift that will make my truck ride smoother. I have a 7 inch icon, 1 inch leveling kit, dual steering stabalizers, 5 inch smooth ride spring with f350 block and 38.15.50 mtz on 20-12 rockstars. Its all on an 06 f250 supercab shortbed. I bet if my truck was the heavier four door long bed it would ride a ton better. |

Are you running the Icon shocks as well? I am only at 4.5" with the Icon springs and shocks and my truck rides great. Better than stock. For sure you need to fix your caster issue. A 4 link is going to give you the best ride and the most caster adjustment as well. PMF makes a really nice 4 link at a good price.

Can you post a picture of your steering/track bar setup? Im curious as to whats causing your bumpsteer. A 4link will help the ride some but its not really going to do much for bumpsteer. It will however keep your steering and alignment closer during articulation.

I run the icon remote resoivor shocks. I can post a picture when I get home from work. I mean the truck looks awesome its just a pleasure to drive anymore.
The trucks nothing special. It has a drop pitman arm and otherwise stock steering and the biggest caster shims available. Then it has a trackbar drop bracket. I alfor forgot to mention I have replaces all the ball joints, draglink, and tie rods trying to help this truck. +2.5 Degree Alignment Cams also This is the only pic I have. Stole from an old thread. See if that helps

When you have a chance, please take a pic of the front steering/trackbar setup. I can help more if I can see what you have and how the angles look....
