borgeson steering shaft upgrade?
ive been readin about ways to improve your steering response and get rid of play in your steering wheel, then i found a problem commonly known in older vehicles as the "rag joint" in vehicles steering shaft getting worn and needing replacing. anyways, ive read that you can either replace the rag joint itself in the steering wheel with a rag joint kit for 8 bucks, or for 240 bucks you can buy a borgeson steering shaft that eliminates the rag joint and uses a u-joint design which is said to be the end of replacing steering shaft components.
also read that vehicles running larger tires benefit alot from this upgrade. i read a story about a guy that ran 36 inch tires and he said it made a big difference in his steering response and whatnot
anyways has anyone ever replaced they're rag joints or steering shafts with steering response improvements? im sure i need a new track bar and mount, but im also looking into this as well. i just finished replacing kingpins and wheel bearings so im good for now but after i get moved over to oregon ill be looking to tackle a new project on the powerstroke. i like making it a better functioning vehicle, and i like pain and spending money on projects and all the ranting and bichin that goes along with it because it makes my cold beer taste just that much better lol
