2002 F250 Noise when on Brakes/Steering
Me again...
Same truck as with the hubs. There is a growling/whining noise that sounds like its coming from the firewall area when I step on the brake medium to hard. It also makes the same noise when you turn the steering wheel and gets louder the harder you turn or step on the brake. The noise also seems to be synched up with engine RPM because the pitch of the noise rises and falls with the engine speed. Nothing is malfunctioning best I can tell, but from the sound of it, it's probably only a matter of time before there's gonna be a problem. Is something about to fail or do I just need to check a fluid level or some such? |

I believe the brakes run off of a hydro-boost that is tied into the power steering pump.
It could be your PS pump whining. I'm sure someone will come along to give more info. |
