01 dually sway bar on f250

Im wanting to upgrade my rear 3/4" sway bar on 01 F250 SRW- I noted that the dually uses a different shorter heavier bar, also the after market ones for the dually are heavier than whats offered for the single rear wheel,

Does anyone have an idea if I can refit a duallly sway bar and or why the differance. Also if you have a dually how it mounts due to it being shorter, mine the link arms mount out board of the frame rails, are the duallys inboard? Im going out to the wrecking yard to see what I can see but thought somehere might clear my thought process.

Im thinking a shorter heavier bar will offer more sway control (I carry a 4000# tall, camper).

The DRW trucks use a different rear axle compared to the SRW trucks. I'd recommend looking at Helwig or you are going to do the R&D for the swap.

Keep in mind that the duallys have a Dana 80 axle while single wheel trucks are the Sterling 10.5. Are the axle mounts the same?

Kinda what I was thinking. The stock dually bar looks at least an inch dia and being shorter would offer more resistance to twist. Right now Im more curious than anything. Ford seems to be the only one using a different SWR & DWR sway bar?

Just need to see how the mounting is different

ya I was thinking the axle mounts had to be different but curious on the differance on stlye (shorter/heavier) verus other MFG trucks. And yes Im thinking if it looks reasonable to try & make it work mostly to see if it improves the sway by just switching to DRW bar. :if I can mount but sway doesnt improve I can upgrade to 1 1/2" for the DRW setup-if not then just go aftermarket for what I have ... But down the road Ill be swithin to a DRW80 so itd be nice to make this work (currently runnin dually adapters till it breaks the Sterling)

follow up

Well I havnt found a dually bar to phsyically try. But heres what I found. I had the opportunity to visualy look/ measure a f350 dually. It uses the same links as the 250 and are in the same location. The D80 axle sway bar brackets are welded on, the 250 are bolt on. Everything else measures & looks like it would fit. You would need to make (or get addtional bolt on) axle brakets, minor. The main differance is the way the dually bar is bent to clear the d80, it looks, and as best I could measure, like it would easily clear the sterling housing. However with out actually trying I cant verify. However youd need to make/locate brackets so you could gain addtional clearance as long as the links are still rotated to the bar simular to stock to help with fit. All this may be a non issue if going to 1 1/2, as alot of them mount under the housing instead of over the top.

The whole point of this: fitting a dually bar on a sterling axle (250 or 350SRW with Sterling axle) would allow you to install the larger bars available for the dually [up to 1 1/2"!] and the f350DRW 1 1/2 bar is one of the least expensive

I thought I found one, went this afternoon to pick it up but when I got there it wasnt a dually it was a SRW (Sterling axle). However it was a stock 1 3/16 bar verus my 3/4" so its getting mounted.
So the best Ive so far for 'on the cheap' upgrade of your F250 3/4" sway bar is some 250's have a 1 3/16 bar, most folks who've done a sway bar upgrade have the old ones laying around.

When I find a free dually take-off stock bar I'll try again. Id be nice to see how close an under the housing fit is, I know a few folks who'd luv to go the 1 1/2 bar and to my knowledge no one does for the 250.

Anyway just passing it on
