I'm building a 4 bar air ride suspension for my truck. I didn't know where to set the pinion angle, so I went looking at a bunch of SD pinions. Wow, there is a lot of variance out there. From nearly in line with the driveshaft to nearly parallel to the ground and everything inbetween. Do you guys have vibration all the time ? Does it vibrate when you coast ? Does it vibrate when you brake ? Was the driveshaft every balanced ? Has a balance weight fallen off ? Did you phase it when you removed it ? Is the carrrier bearing itself OK ? Are the splines worn or is the driveshaft running too tight or too far out in the splines ? As far as I am concerned, these trucks need traction bars to control axle wrap. Or a 4 bar rear suspension. |

Sounds to me like something is flexing when you accelerate. What are you using for ends in your bars ? How are the bars mounted to the frame ? Does your truck anti squat when you accelerate ? I'd mount a camera under your truck and go for a drive and see what is really happening. You shouldn't need a CV, especially with a 4 bar setup. |

I got my drivelines back today I got all new u-joints and my rear shaft resleaved and they took out the dampener in the rear shaft also. I put the drivelines in and It worked perfect no shudder so I put my 2" tapered blocks back in the rear of the truck and now I have shudder. I adjusted carrier bearing up and down and nothing helped. I am at the point to where I am going to take the whole lift off. I had a guy on another forum say he had a shudder and when he replaced his shocks it went away. He thought it sounded pretty stupid, but it worked for him. What if the shocks are that bad? I did raise the truck another 2" in the rear with factory shocks. It kinda makes sense, but would it make the truck shudder that bad?

i hope i dont get this problem... as for the shocks? i dont really know how far stock shocks can be stretched... if your going to keep your lift, i would say eventually get longer shocks i never had this problem... i lifted a dodge 4" in rear with no axle shims and it vibrated at highway speeds... but sold it to a guy in Bulgaria lol.. im still a little confused on what your problem is.

Please say it wasnt shipped over seas to the buyer, who sent you a Western Union money order for too much money. Allowed you to keep the difference in good faith, who you met on Craigslist when your truck was listed for sale. Cause thats the #1 internet scam from believe it or not...Somalia. When they aren't pirating ships and holding people hostage they're on the internet taking people for their money. Check out 419eater.com Great website...shows how people mess with the scammers. Its all about taking their time away from scamming others....the best!!! |

Here is the latest, I took complete lift off of the truck and still had vibration so I took it to the local tire place and they thought is was out of balanced tires, but it wasn't they found that the new driveline that I had just installed had two u-joints hanging up so they fixed it and Whaalaaa no Vibration. Truck has no more lift on it,but atleast the Vibration is gone. Thanks to all who had advice to offer.
