F 250 vs F 350
What are the differences between the 250 and the 350 as far as suspension goes? I know that one is a 3/4 ton while the other is a 1 ton. A guy I work with and me were talking about this and he says all he has to do to his 250 is put the extra helper spring on it and put the anti-sway bar (?) on and his suspension will be comparable to a 350. This just doesn't seem that easy to me. My 350 sits higher than his 250 and squats quite a bit less than his when weight is put on the back. He also says the ride between the 250 and 350 are no different. To me the 350 would have stiffer springs, therefore making the ride not as smooth. Any insight would be helpful on this. He also said he called and the parts and labor were going to be around $1,100, surely the upgrade from 250 to 350 is greater than that. Both trucks are 4 wheel drive crew cab long beds and 08s. His is a strip job, mines not and his is gas, mine's diesel.
Thanks, Jordan |

Single rear wheel F250 to single rear wheel F350 superdutys are the same ezact truck with 2 differences. The F350 came standard with helper springs starting in 02 and in order to get helper springs on the F250 you need to get the camper package. The other difference is the GVWR. The F350 will be more because your paying for extra payload rating but the trucks are the same. Now if we get into a SRW F250 vs. DRW F350 there are gonna be differences. A SRW F250 can pull as much as a SRW F350.

Thats pretty much what I was told as well. Thats why I went with the F250 to save the xtra $2500 - $3000.

: 08 350srw's come with 37 spline axleshafts vs 35 spline shafts in a 250. 4 inch block in the rear of the 350 vs 2.5 in block in the 250. Also you info regarding the 99-03 trucks is incorrect as well. You can get the exact same spring packages in a 250 vs a 350 srw without ordering the camper package. All the camper package meant was you got a rear sway bar. |

Part by part comparison of the OLDER 250/350 single axle differences is that 250 has a 2" block in the rear springs and 350 has 4" block in the rear springs (and of course different U-bolts). Other than that they are identical trucks. There ARE a multitude of spring options available, but in the basic packages that's the only difference.
