Icon 4-link
Will the Icon 4-Link work with 3.5 inches of lift? I have the icon 2.5, with a TEI spacer. I was going to go with the OUO bars, but I'm looking for a 4-link to cure my wheel hop problem when sled pulling.
On edit, does anyone know if the Pure Performance 4-link would work also? Last edited by matt05; 08-19-2009 at 06:51 PM. |

Bump. I would like to know as well..

I'm just waiting for D.C. to show up. I talked to the Top Gun guys about their 4-link and it says its for 6-8 inches, but it will work for 3.5? So if theirs would work, one can only assume they all would.

Would the OUO link arms fix the wheel hop problem?

I don't think so, but then again, I don't know for sure. I know a 4-link will solve it, but the OUO bars aren't really a 4-link, but they sure are nice.

Icon will work at a 3.5".
OUO may or may not cure your issues....just like the Icon may or may not cure your issues. If the axle is wrapping it can only do so in the rubber bushings themselves either on the axle or the frame end of the stock radius arm. Icon and OUO both do not use bushings at the frame so that eliminates that. So, it could be excessive movement in the lower mounts, or an air pressure issue. You wouldn't by chance have a video of the truck hopping would you? |

No, no videos, I've just been told a 4-link will solve the issue. I was hoping you would say the Icon wouldn't work, cause now I want to dig up 1500 bucks for it...dang it.

D.C. what do you think of Pure Performance's 4-Link kit for the Super Duty? Is the Icon worth the extra 700?

I've never been a fan of Rock Krawler's (aka pure performance) other stuff....never used their SD stuff.
From the pics, different geometry and different construction. It's made for 6-8" of lift so not sure where that would place your front axle with only 3.5" of lift. Icon is meant for a 4.5" lift...so 3.5" is only 1" lower, only going to have a slight shift forward with it. As for a 4-link 100% curing your problems.....I wouldn't make those guarantees. What is causing the hop? What is different with the 4-link that it will not hop? |

To tell you the truth D.C, I have no friggin idea, I'm just going off what I've been told by other sled pullers. I talked to someone at pure, and they said they make a 4-link for a 2"-4" lift and I could use that.
