Identifying chips?

I Just bought a 2000 f250 7.3 with a super chip in it and the guy told me he couldnt remember if it was a 70 or 80hp chip. the chip doesnt have any numbers on it and is probly at least8-9yrs old. The chip is gold in color I didnt know if they might be color coded or if there was another way to identify what I really have.

Jimmy,

We used to put a sticker on the portion of the chip that faces the PCM when inserted. That sticker helps identify that data.

If that sticker is still there give customer service a call at 888-227-2447. They might be able to determine the code for you.
