World Series/National Anthem

I think I've witnessed many atrocities in my time but none so egregious as Patty Labelle's rendition of our National Anthem just now at the beginning of Game 4 of the World Series. Why in the world can't musicians just sing it the way it was meant to be sung and leave their own variations out of it? Perhaps I'm alone in thinking this but to me, this one was bad...

There are too many good entertainers who do it right than to have people like her screw it up.
