Kevin Everett.....

I know a lot of you are not football fans....so i thought i would share this with those of you that arent, and make sure everyone keeps this young man in thier prayers...

As many of you know.....Kevin Everett was severely injured last sunday on the opening kickoff of the second half. The tackle looked virtually textbook, but his head positioning was just right for his spinal cord to be compressed enough to break his spine between C3 and C4 vertibrea.....

Here is the hit.... YouTube - Buffalo Bills Kevin Everett Spinal Injury

A lot of credit here needs to be given to buffalo bills owner Ralph Wilson for his commitment to his players. See one the articles below which goes into more depth.....Hes one of the biggest supporters of the "Miami Project" which is a major spinal injury study group. He is one of the few owners in the leage to have a neurosurgion actually at the games, a nd the fact that Kevin got a brand new treatment still in the testing process probably not only saved his life, but may in fact lead to him walking again. Within minutes of the hit the doctor actually intentionally put him into a state of hypothermia to stop swelling and slow his metabolismn down.... Below are some articles about it all.... He is only a 25 year old guy....when he hit the ER he was concious and paralized...now he at least has some movement back....everyone keep him in thier prayers!!

That is an awesome story!! That treatment is an amazing breakthrough.. it basically acts as an "ice pack" for the spinal cord (giving you a cold IV or something like that)

It is amazing that they thougth the worse - then he started moving his arms and legs!!!! WOW! How Awesome!

It is an amazing story and I will be following it to see how he does and wish him a GREAT recovery!
