Looking for opinions of NFL rules
I'm looking for opinions on two questions pertaining to the NFL rules and Last weekend 10/4 specifically. What do you think about the rules protecting the QBs? In the Ravens vs. Patriots game what did you think about the roughing the passer calls against the Ravens (Ray Lewis didn't think they were legitimate)?
I will say that I am not a die hard Ravens fan, though I live in MD and when the Ravens win people around me are generally happier, which makes my life easier. I also went to college with lots of New Englanders and have no love for the Pats. This is the one thing (sports) that I think people on here might disagree on. I look forward to your thoughts. |

I understand the need to protect the QB's a little bit since they're the ones making the most money and are the faces of most teams. However, that call against the Ravens, and some others so far this season, have been REALLY weak. I mean the guy barely tapped Brady on the follow through. And this is coming from an Eagles fan.

Then you and I feel the same way. Yes the QBs need to be protected, but the call against the Ravens was very weak. I also feel that QBs named Brady and Manning get extra special treatment from the NFL and the refs; whereas QBs Names Garrard, Campbell, and Roethlisberger don't and that is wrong. I myself am a Redskins fan. We'll be seeing you Oct 26. |

They make more money than anybody else and signed up to play a full-contact sport. They should be able to take a hit just like everybody else. These defenders can get laid out on a blindsided block and nobody cares. Every timethe QB gets the ball he already know he's a target. If they can't man up and take it then get a job at Hobby Lobby!! I understand a little bit of protection from the stripes but that's what the O-line is for. When they get tired of getting hit then maybe they will straighten out the linemen. It especially makes me mad when they get called for roughing the passer or kicker after they were blocked into said passer/kicker!!
