That's all fine and good, but that's big 12 football. The fact of the matter is a W is a W, and OSU didn't walk away with it. Texas did.

The Texas Numbers
OSU is coming off a 41-14 loss in a contest in which OSU suffered a season-high five turnovers, including two interceptions returned for touchdowns. The game ended with OSU holding 277-275 advantage in total offense. Some other tidbits worth noting from the Texas game...
• The Longhorns did not record a sack against the Cowboys after entering the game with an average of 2.7 per contest to rank No. 24 nationally.
• OSU ran for 139 yards against a Texas team that was allowing just 41 yards per contest to lead the nation in that category.
• OSU averaged just 3.1 yards per rush, but that was more than double what the Longhorns had been allowing per carry entering the OSU contest.

On The Defensive Side
Oklahoma State's defense is coming off an outing against No. 3 Texas in which it acquitted itself quite well.
• Texas entered the game averaging 438 yards per contest and managed just 275 vs. OSU.
• The Longhorns entered the game averaging 164 rushing per contest, but managed just 99 vs. OSU and just 3.1 per tote.
• The Texas offense had just two touchdowns drives in excess of 50 yards the entire game and one of those went for 53 yards.

See, told you they played tough. OSU's no joke at home.

Well........all I can say here in the Tampa area is that punk Spikes didn't even make the evening news on Tuesday. The whole game benched against Vandy is an F'ing joke. But the coaches are the ones that need their balls in a vise. Nobody said **** until it was posted on youtube. Spurrier was never my favorite, but Myer is running that Florida program down like Jimmie Johnson did Miami in the '90's. Just a herd of verbally incoherent, knuckle-draggin' street trash that can peel off a sub 4.4 sec 40-yard dash without the aid of crack cocaine. Can't put two sentences together w/o one ending in "ya feelin' me?" And people say running from the po-lease isn't smart. Looks like it earned several UF scholarships. But seriously, Myer and the rest of the coaches allowing this crap are doing the Gator Nation real harm. I can remember what Spikes did to Moreno in the 2008 Ga-Fla. game. And I actually liked Tebow when he was a Sophomore. Something happened to him during the summer; now he's so damned arrogant I can't stand him.

Now Oregon is saying that LaGarrette Blount (who sucker punched the Boise State player after the opening game) could be reinstated in time to play this Saturday. And Dez Bryant gets a full year (not remainder of this season but a full calendar year) suspension. What is college football coming to?

And the player that got his eyes gouged by Spikes says he doesn't think Spikes should be suspended at all.

Blount might get reinstated but he wont play much... LaMichael James is tearing **** up right now and the ducks offense is looking better than any offense in the NCAA!! I don't think the ducks will need him right away

Georgia running back Washaun Ealey says Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes shouldn't be suspended - ESPN
So I finally watched and I'm more surprised that a team leader and senior would do something so stupid, he should be smarter than that. I do think he should be punished, he shouldn't be suspended for the rest of the season but I feel that a single half is too little. Maybe the full game plus some off the field requirements would be a more proper punishment. It's not as big of a deal as people have made it out to be, no he should not have done it, yes he should be punished, BUT it is something that happens in football, and it happens more than it should. How many times have you seen a player run off the field with their hand over their eye? A lot more than you realize, no it doesn't make it right but it happens, so suspend him and move on. In that same game a Georgia player hit Tebow well after he handed the ball off in fact he was just standing there looking down field when he was hit, that too was an attempt to harm but who cares move on.

I'm curious how exactly Florida is being run into the ground? We seem to be doing alright for ourselves.

Navy beating Notre Dame at the half and THE OHIO STATE beating Penn State, so far so good. Just hope they can both pull it off.

Navy wins, Ohio State wins, now just need WSU to upset Arizona and the trifecta will be complete.
