Trailer brake controller

Ok, so i've been thinking of all these mods I would like to do turbo, exhaust, etc... and it dawned on me I havent thought of the one thing that probably would be the single most important towing Mob, the break controller. So what controllers are everyone useing? I'm defently thinking electronic controller, but dontknow that much about them and every web site I read says something completely different about them. I need your input guys
