Guys I would there with you guy. I'm from Indiana and I like the way it works in our state. Yes you have to have a license But its not hard to abtain. Go to the police department they run a background check,, fingerprint, signoff and your done. No classes or anything like you already have in Oklahoma just give a brief over view of the laws.

Press Release

OpenCarry.org

February 11, 2009
---

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Representative Mike Ritze (R - Broken Arrow) Introduces Open Carry Bill for Oklahoma!

Only 6 states ban open carry, including incredibly, Oklahoma. See map at OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost!.

But Representative Mike Ritze (R - Broken Arrow) wants to change that apparently in response to an online petition effort at Open Carry in Oklahoma Petition with over 3,700 signatures.

And if Ritze's newly introduced HB 1414 at http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/20...1414%5Fint.rtf passes, Oklahoma will join most states in requiring no permit to open carry handguns. Concealed carry of course would still require a permit like almost every state.

America is warming up to open carry in the states where it was once rarely practiced, and in 4 of the 6 states where it is now banned, legislative action is ongoing:

**South Carolina - bill already introduced to repeal the open carry ban.

**Arkansas and Texas - bills drafted to repeal the open carry ban.

**Florida & New York - no action yet, but online petition in Florida is growing, see Florida Open Carry Petition.

OpenCarry.org applauds Representative Mike Ritze effort to bring full Second Amendment carry rights to Oklahoma!

I sure don't understand this?
My CC permit expired and i have not renewed it yet because i waited more than 30 days to renew and was told i had to go through the class again, do a background check again and the whole nine yards but if the open carry bill passes, i can just strap on a gun and go??? Am i missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. You shouldn't need a permit to exercise your constitutional right to keep and bear arms. The Supreme Court affirmed that the Second Amendment was an individual right, not the right of the organized State Militia. They went further to state that the Constitution did NOT guarantee the right to Concealed Carry. So CC can be licensed and regulated by the States. Open Carry should not be impeded.

At least, that's my view.
