Vegi conversion - GTG if anyone wants to join us

Darrell (aka bbboomer) took the plung and bought a Frybrid conversion for his wifes MB. We'll be working on it Sun. so if anyone wants to come out, watch some NFL on the new 40" screen in the shop and have some beers, come on, we'll be wrenchen on the Benz.
We started this yesturday (Sat.) morning and the got part is done...watched some football so it was hard to stay focuses under the car...oh and we discovered the drive shaft bushing was shot so detoured out efforts into getting that replaced..had to pull the exhaust off and the drive shaft so that cost us about 3 hours.
I know its short notice but hey, better late than never.
Russ, I think you need a break from studying so come on.

No!
had more setbacks but made some progress. Alot of fab work to figure out before we started hacking into the coolant and fuel systems. Tank in mounts and hooked up in the trunk and hoses ran from the engine - which was the biggest biotch!

It will be nice when done. Most of our problems started yesturday when we were running the coolant and fuel lines under the car. There's a nice tunnel in the unibody where the drive shaft runs so we were running these lines in there and noticed the carrier bushing was toast on the shaft... 2 hours getting that off as well as exhaust system. Called to find one, yea right, it's a 1983 Mercedes...
[autoparts guy] "you need a what"? (laughing in the background)
so we ordered the bushing to be picked up today at noon.
Got it, got the old one pressed off, new one on, back under the car on our backs and mother f_cker!! It's the wrong bushing! So we got up and started pounding beers...

That's how our weekend went

That's typically how ANY project goes for me. That's why I always like to have a friend around
for moral support (and advice).

Murphy always show up uninvited when I attempt a car project or a home maintenance project.
