front end hop question

So i'm about to pull my first sled here in about a month. just doing some research because i'm completely new to this. i have a 9" lift on 37's long arm kit. link'd front and rear on 2.0 king co's with remote resi's. i'm hearing a lot about ratcheting the front end to prevent wheel hop. and i'm also reading linking the front end will prevent this as well, so since i'm linked... do you guys think i should still ratchet strap the front end? i guess i should mention, 4.88 gears front and rear. plan to run 4 low in 3rd gear. 5" tb with intake h&s mini maxx. still not completely sure what tune yet, i'm hearing tow and i'm also hearing let the mf'er go wtfo on hd300, forget about egt's and see what happens...

I have some experience with sled pulling. I would say don't waste the time strapping the front end. Ive never had a front end hop nor seen a truck start hopping the front end. I run my truck on the extreme tune in my edge and just let it eat for the short run down the track the egts will not be an issue. even if you hit 1400 deg its such a short amount of time you will be there that it shouldn't damage anything. Don't be too bummed if you don't pull awesome first time out I've made several runs down the track and am still learning things and trying stuff to get it to pull farther my first run was less than 100 ft but now I run in the 200's. Good Luck.
