Looking to get into the sport

I'm looking to get into sled pulling or at least get enough information to see if it exists here in Jersey.

Where's everyone get their pulling hitches? I've looked on some "pulling" forum sites but they are quite stale, seems like no one has posted in months.

The truck I would use is the '06. Few bolt ons, Icon's 4.5" kit with OUO traction blocks. Any idea how it would do?
thanks guys/gals.

To me it seems the sport does not cater all that well to the 'mostly stock' pullers. They are always at the larger events, but in my opinion the class they pull in is also heavy with strong modded trucks. I think this is discouraging to the guys who come to try it out for the first time, or just every once in a while, and does not lend itself to growing the sport.

I would imagine you wouldn't do too bad in the workstockers, but you'll want to cinch that front end down with some heavy duty ratchet straps, and consider some rear suspension stops if you're going to get serious

Also try PullOff.com, here in the midwest there are lots of "brush" pulls that run a stock pickup class.

I agree with you on that! They usally want nothing to do with the litte guy that just wants to have fun and see what his truck can do. Same goes for Snowmobile races as well. Stood around from 3pm till 3:30am waiting to race the stock class.
