is this acceptable for a hitch to pull with?
Buyers 12,000-Lb. Receiver Mount Towing Eye | Towing Eyes | Northern Tool + Equipment
Im not going to be pulling regularly. and the sled here is not your typical 40K sled. its smaller. Just wanting to try out sled pulling. Wondering if this is rated enough to pull it. I know you are going to be hard pressed to find a ring thats rated for 40K pounds anyhow. thanks. |

You may be able to get away with it at some pulls...maybe
(depending on the sled/hook & of course how strict tech), but standard regulation for most now says that the opening for the hook must be 3 3/4" long x 3" wide. The lunette ring you have listed is only 2.5" I.D. (so most new hooks won't fit through the hole)

Thats ok, I found a huge D ring, 1" Dia. that will work and it was half the cost.
