Truck pull tonight any quick pointers

hey there is a truck pull tonight. this is my first time pulling. i havee a 99.5 ford super duty 7.3 diesel. stock auto 4r100 tranny. My mods are replacement stock air filter dp tuner 60 80 econ 120. complete 5 inch exhuast 285 tires kinda bald. them are my performance mods not what i havae done so far to it. so anyways i was wondering if any of you have any quick pointers. i know to put it in 4 low, put the chip on 120. then tighten chain take out of over drive. drop into first, hold the brakes get some boost built up and hammer it to 3000 grand then put into second and then hammer it. should i deflate my front tires if so to what thanks. hopefully i wll get soem more pointers before i go. i want ot do the best i can.

Just put it in 4-low and secind gear and leave it there. You will run out of first way to quick.

If it starts hopping back out of it. It's better to quit and drive away then to break and and get towed away.

The only time i've seen anything break is when they let it start hopping. but with your tire I doubt you'll get enough traction to start hopping.

I'm sure there will be more pointers from other members to follow

Like he said... 4L and Drive works for me, lock out OD and hammer down. You will need a hitch or someone might let you use there's...

Going to a pull this weekend... Hopeing to break something...LOL

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't use the brake at first to build boost. When I pulled before, the sled comes off of the line easy enough that you'll build boost fast in those low gears.

I missed that... yes, you dont need to boost it up, just lay into her... She will fly for the first 100 feet or so... then the pulling begins!!!

Lets hope that he drives it home rather than tow it. I'm sure he's still at the pull. Of course it's almost 2200 here in Montana...don't know where he's from.

Hey, thanks for the pointers guys. It was a blast sorry no videos but i will post some pictures of my truck in general up on here none from the pull. Well i pulled a 266 feet with my 99.5 7.3 exhuast and chip. i dont know is that good? well i hit 10 mph on the track. do you think for the next time i should have more wheel speed. i htink do. But do you think i have enough power for third? Everyone else was doing close or above 20mph. And i dont know if it did anythign but i dont have a boost annhilator for my truck so my ses light came on do you think i lost my power because my motor defueled or dont you think that did anything. thanks a bunch. best of all i didnt break anything lol.
