Hunting in Southern California
Being originally from Idaho and Washington this whole San Diego bit isn't working out for me so well... I have however done quite a bit of hunting this year! I opened up Dove season with an old friend and shot over a hundred dove in two days. I've been pheasant hunting a few times only got one... I recently heard of the pigs they have running around here so I've gone up through Cleveland Nation Forest a few times with no luck... I'm also a pretty avid coyote hunter. Has anyone else had any good luck here in Southern Cali? I guess even if no one has this could be a good ice breaker to a pretty fun strand of stories lol

Not to hijack your thread, but I have to throw this one out. Hunting may pretty well suck around the San Diego area, I would not know. Although I have been there a thousand times never to hunt, love the area though!!! Now if you want to hunt, Havelock NC has it all. I know it is the opposite coast, but had to mention that, ohhh New River offers pretty much the same....

lol I was stationed on New River for some time before getting stationed here at Miramar. I used to rock Havelock and Lejeune for fishing and hunting. I was at Pendleton for the majority of my career so far and that was alright I suppose. I used to just go home to hunt but this year I thought I'd give Cali a try and well so far I'm pretty disappointed.

New Mexico isn't too long a drive from you, and has some of the best and most accessible hunting in North America.

theres a few hunting places 3 hours or so away from SD, Im talking about businesses that own land stocked with game. Check Calguns.net or Fishing Forums - Boating - Reports - Bloodydecks.com I have also done some trekking out east and found signs of pigs, but no oinkers to be seen. Theres a hunting forum somewhere that has a private area regarding SD hunting spots, so if you get all buddy buddy with them you could get a little info
