Competition Skeet and Trap Shooting

Anybody shoot competitively? *cough* *cough* choctaw

A girl at school is starting up a shotgun team

I have never shot competitively so I'm looking for any tips or suggestions

Aim the shotgun towards your target. Unless its moving. Then aim in front of it.

I think I will be ok at trap shooting but im not sure about the skeet

where are you going to school Wes? I started a competitive shotgun team at OSU in 2006. It is a ton of fun and got to travel a lot of the country with the team too.

Actually the girl that started the team said she is trying to set up a match between us and OSU

That would be cool. Make sure you guys work on fundraising. We really emphasized it while i was there and I never had to pay any entry fees or round fees when we shot and the club was able to provide the shells too. We practiced in Guthrie twice a month too. Can't practice enough. Fort Hays in Kansas has a team too, they arent too far away. Every club holds a major shoot during the year and then everyone goes to San Antonio in April for College Nationals. Try to get a hold of OSU and they can get you guys a schedule of shoots the other colleges are holding. Feel free to PM me if you ever need any info. Even though I am alumni now, i still keep in touch.

We are working on fund raising right now because the school isnt going to give us any

. I'm hoping we get a few sponsors too

, we have a couple grants we are working on too.
I know we are going to compete at Kansas, new Mexico and San Antonio for sure, probably a coupe others too.
we have been in touch with them, but im not sure of any of the details.

We had an open shoot here yesterday,
there was a bunch of local people and the OSU shotgun team came down and shot.
I was really happy with the way I shot,
it was my first time to shoot trap and I ended up placing 2nd in the men's division.
