Now it looks like it attaches almost like a cross member with nothing bolting directly into the roof?

looks like it bolts on to the to the little hooks on that you hook clothes and stuff on

It just bolts to the roof sides, that way you can place it wherever you want

i gotta cheap one from walmart :// for like 6 bucks cause i didnt wanna shell out the coin for a sky rack plus ya gotta have it in the back glass, im proud of my second amendment
